Cozy’s for Chemo, an organization that gives specially designed T-shirts to children who have cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. The event will take place on September 21st at 6:30 at the Bentley Gallery in Phoenix, Arizona.
ComfyCozy’s is based in Phoenix and was founded in honor of a young girl named Amanda who lost her battle with leukemia in 2012. Inspired by Amanda’s positive attitude and desire to maintain her modesty and dignity while undergoing treatments, her family started the organization to bring comfort to other children in similar circumstances.
The brightly colored T-shirts have strategically placed zippers and pockets that hide the wires, ports and infusion lines used for treatments but still keep them accessible to doctors and nurses. As a result, the young patients can maintain a sense of modesty while receiving treatments in the hospital by staying fully dressed and not having their medical equipment exposed to the public. In the harsh world of childhood cancer, the shirts offer an invaluable degree of comfort that makes a big difference to a child.
With philanthropy as one of the core values that shapes MDI’s culture, MDI is committed to positively impacting people’s lives each day and is thrilled to partner with an organization like ComfyCozy’s that seeks to do the same. “Almost everybody has a family member or friend who has been directly impacted by cancer,” said Allan Dunn, Managing Director of MDI’s Phoenix branch office. “I have seen firsthand what a positive impact ComfyCozy has on children fighting cancer while going through chemo treatment, and the MDI family is honored to be able to support ComfyCozy and help them raise the awareness and support they need to continue to provide positive encouragement to these brave kids and their families.”
