Master Vendor Program Delivers Cost-Effective Solutions to the World’s Leading Beverage Marketer
The world’s leading manufacturer, marketer and distributor of nearly 500 nonalcoholic beverage brands that employs more than 146,000 people world-wide and operates in more than 200 countries.
The client’s Global Procurement Director had assessed the IT staff augmentation program and determined that the vendor pool needed to be more diverse, competitive and cost-effective. The program needed a staffing partner that would provide superior service and top-tier consultants within an established rate range and enable the company to meet its diversity targets.
After being rated on 43 weighted metrics in a comprehensive bid process, MDI was chosen to direct the vendor-neutral Master Vendor Program (MVP) based on our commitment to supplier diversity and significant PeopleClick experience. MDI’s dedicated client manager worked on-site to manage the annual fulfillment of more than 125 IT positions in the $18 million program. One of MDI’s primary goals was to create a team environment where all vendors were focused on placing resources who met the client’s stringent cost, quality, delivery and service requirements.
Through the MVP solution, MDI enabled the client to cost-effectively meet its IT staffing requirements and vendor diversity goals. To ensure all vendors worked together, MDI developed a seamless communication process that blurred the boundaries between individual vendors. MDI also improved diversity spend tracking by implementing new procedures and an automated Vendor Management System (VMS). Finally, MDI started a mentorship program for one of the client’s preferred diversity suppliers to help it successfully tackle “what’s next.”
