Client Profile
MDI's client is a leading manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of nonalcoholic beverage concentrates and syrups, used to produce nearly 400 beverage brands.
Challenge
This client's IT organization was undergoing substantial changes, and the leadership wanted to ensure that its Staff Augmentation Program addressed its needs by sourcing and delivering diverse talent at competitive rates within a reasonable timeframe, while maintaining stringent quality commitments.
The client was seeking a Master Vendor to develop and implement their Staff Augmentation Program, to include managing supplier performance metrics, managing program costs, generating detailed real-time reports, and making available any and all program management tools or systems.
Finally, the client required that the Master Vendor demonstrate a high level of commitment to the inclusion and participation of minority and women-owned business enterprise (MWBE).
Solution
MDI's Managed Vendor Program was the ideal choice to meet this client's performance and diversity requirements. First, MDI is one of the largest woman-owned IT Staff Augmentation firms in the US, and through its project governance organization, it has developed the methodology and experience to establish and implement standard processes and procedures. MDI's solution included the following deliverables:
- Developed and documented the staff-augmentation worker engagement policies and procedures to be followed by all hiring managers and approved vendors.
- Design, develop and implement eLearning courses for Contract Performance Managers
- Delivered orientation/training to both client and vendors on the staff-augmentation engagement policies and procedures.
- Developing the 2004 Staff Augmentation Program Fee Schedule. Once complete MDI will propose to client for approval.
- Providing standard and ad hoc reporting on vendor performance and supplier diversity usage.
Results
MDI is enabling the client to streamline the procurement of IT staff augmentation resources. The savings generated from the combination of improved processes and the updated rate schedule is expected to save the client over $500,000 annually.
Additionally, not only is MDI establishing efficient and effective procedures, but it is also contributing to achieving the client's supplier diversity objectives.
