Ella Koscik, Chief Executive Officer
Since 1994, Ella Koscik has been owner and Chief Executive Officer of MDI Group, a results-driven professional services firm providing IT workforce solutions that enable clients to achieve critical business objectives. She is responsible for providing strategic direction and overseeing MDI Group’s deployment of world-class services.
Under Ella's leadership, MDI Group's revenues have grown from $10M to over $70M and its active consultants increased from 10 to more than 500. Ella also spearheaded MDI Group’s geographic expansion into major markets across the U.S., and expanded service offerings within IT Workforce Solutions.
Ella has over two decades of experience in the IT professional services industry. She began her career in sales in 1987, moved to the IT consulting field in 1988 and joined MDI Group in 1994. Within six months, after helping the company achieve unprecedented growth, Ella purchased MDI Group. By leveraging market opportunities and building an exceptional service delivery team, Ella has led MDI Group to achieve profitable growth for 20 years running in spite of numerous downturns in the economy.
A dynamic and insightful leader, Ella’s visionary style, business acumen, diversity thought leadership and charitable endeavors have been lauded by industry associations and featured in numerous publications. With Ella at the helm, MDI Group has received more than 50 industry, community and philanthropic awards and recognitions from a wide variety of sources, including Inc. 5000, Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. She is also dedicated to the satisfaction and success of MDI Group’s employees; a commitment that was publicly affirmed in 2008 when MDI Group was named one of the “Top 50 Best Places to Work in Atlanta” by Atlanta Magazine. In addition, Ella was named “Owner of Year” by the National Association of Women Business Owners in 2005.
Ella is an active industry advocate and a strong supporter of supplier diversity. She is a member of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and has served on its Board of Directors. She is a current member of the Women’s Enterprise Leadership Forum Governing Group, and serves on the WBENC Supply Chain Subcommittee. Additionally, Ella has sat on the board of the Georgia Association of Personnel Services (GAPS), and is a founder of the Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). Ella is also a member of the Georgia Women’s Business Council (GWBC), National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and Women in Technology (WIT).
Above all, Ella is a humanitarian who ensures that MDI Group makes a difference in the communities it serves. The company, together with its clients, consultants and employees, sponsors or supports more than 15 charitable organizations and participates in many fundraising events for people in need. Ella is founder of the Ella Marie foundation and the Dale Nero Scholarship Fund, as well as Founding Member of the TechServe Alliance (Formerly NACCB) Open Door Foundation.
Richey Brownfield, Chief Operating Officer
Richey has held operations leadership roles at MDI Group since 1999. As the company's COO, he brings substantial IT staffing operations and consulting experience in the implementation and administration of contingent workforce management programs. In addition, Richey's background includes software development, software quality assurance, business systems analysis and IT project management.
Previously, Richey was vice president of branch services and led MDI Group's project governance practice. He also managed the company's vendor management program and helped design the contingent labor acquisition workflow processes for multiple Fortune 500 clients.
Prior to his career at MDI Group, he was a systems analyst at both Siemens Energy & Automation and NCR. Richey earned a BBA in Management Information Systems from The University of Georgia's Terry College of Business and currently participates in several associations, including the TechServe Alliance.
Paul DiNunzio, Chief Financial Officer
As MDI Group's CFO, Paul works closely with other executives to maintain the company's long tradition of profitability and innovative IT service. Paul's diverse management experience, attained from working at large and small firms—as well as the military—is instrumental in helping to keep MDI Group both entrepreneurial and structured.
Paul has had a long career in financial management. Prior to MDI Group, he was CFO of recruiting company CyberCoders. He also held senior financial leadership positions at CIBA Vision and Premier Automotive Group. Before these roles, he served seven years as a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy.
Paul holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and a Bachelor's of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester.
Connie Chiasson, IT Workforce Solutions President
Connie, who has been with MDI Group since 2005, is a proven leader with significant IT leadership and management experience. As president of the IT Workforce Solutions division, she oversees the sales and delivery of all IT services. She also participates in community outreach with national technology associations and local business groups.
Connie's previous roles include running MDI Group's Atlanta and Greenville branches. While in Greenville, she spearheaded IT Workforce Solutions services throughout South Carolina, developed a sales force, and turned the branch into one of the top-performing offices in the company.
Connie, who was named MDI Group's "Manager of the Year" in 2008, started her career at the company as a strategic account executive. At this position, she led large-account sales and coordinated diversity-related programs.
Prior to joining MDI Group, Connie was a district director at staffing company Spherion. She has a Bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is active in several associations, including the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).
