Diverse set of advisors strengthens the company’s knowledge base and capabilities for pursuing strategic goals
June 24, 2013 (ATLANTA) – MDI Group (MDI), a leading IT staffing and recruiting services provider, announced today that it has formed a six-person board of directors to advise and support the chairperson and chief executive officer as the company continues to pursue aggressive plans for market penetration and expansion during the next five years. Newly appointed board members include professionals with extensive experience in legal, financial and management matters.
The formation of a board of directors is the latest milestone in MDI’s long-term strategic plan and impressive track record of growth. Since taking ownership of MDI in 1994, Chairperson Ella Koscik has focused on the leadership development and strategic initiatives that build a strong company. Her vision and leadership enabled MDI to achieve unprecedented growth and to increase revenue from $10 million to $70 million in 14 years.
In the first two quarters of 2013, MDI opened two additional office locations in Fort Worth and Austin, Texas. Today, the company’s national footprint includes seven locations in five states, and it currently employs 350 professionals with the goal of employing more than 450 by the end of 2013.
“We did what our company does best – which is ‘best-fit recruiting’ – to identify board members with the right mix of experience and industry knowledge who will serve as a peer group for making decisions and ensure that we are a professionally managed organization,” said Koscik. “I’m excited to work with such amazing individuals to continue MDI’s growth with their help and guidance.”
MDI’s board of directors includes:
Ella Marie Koscik – Chairperson of the board and owner of MDI who has overseen the nationally recognized success, growth and profitability of the company since 1994.
Richey Brownfield – Veteran IT services consultant and current CEO of MDI, where he has served in various positions since 1999.
Carolyn Mathis – Partner of Harbor View Advisors with more than 20 years of investment banking experience including 11 years as a vice president with Goldman Sachs.
Charles M. Modlin – Partner in the corporate department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP where he advises private and public companies on issues ranging from day-to-day operations to capital market transactions.
Richard J. Mortland – Former CFO of MDI with 45 years of retail banking, mortgage and varied financial experience.
Shawn Poole – Executive vice president and CFO of EmployBridge with rich experience at the executive level in both human resources and financial leadership roles.
“As we enter our 25th year of operation, MDI plans to expand our business model as the demand for experienced IT professionals continues to reach new all-time high levels,” said Richey Brownfield, CEO of MDI. “The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that IT employment reached new record high levels during 2012, surpassing 4 million jobs in the U.S. Our newly created board of directors will provide independent, objective advice to our executive team and will play a key role in supporting our continued growth.”
