September 5, 2010 | MDI Group, a leading provider of IT workforce solutions to mid-sized to Fortune 500 clients nationwide, today announced that its Dallas office will sponsor the American Diabetes Association’s signature fundraising event – the Step Out walk to fight diabetes, and that it will send a corporate team of walkers to join the 2000+-person walking and fundraising group on October 30th. The Dallas event, one of many throughout the nation, begins at the Rangers Ballpark at 10 AM, and will raise money to provide diabetes education programs in local communities, protect the rights of people with diabetes, and fund critical research for a cure. In 2009, more than 100,000 walkers joined together for the cause, contributing to the event that has raised more than $20 million to help fight the disease of diabetes.
Says Connie Chiasson, MDI Group President, “MDI Group has always has a deep commitment to both volunteer and financial support of philanthropies around the globe and in the local markets we serve – it’s something that’s always been extremely important to our CEO Ella Koscik and each of our branch offices has really taken that corporate culture to heart in supporting causes that are meaningful to them. Our Dallas office felt strongly that the ADA Step Out event provided a significant opportunity to give back to the community in an interactive way to show their support and to help fight this disease that hits so close to home for many of us.”
The nationwide Step Out events are part of the ADA’s larger ‘Stop Diabetes’ movement, dedicated to ending the devastating toll that diabetes takes on millions of individuals and families across the nation. ADA events are designed to inspire and mobilize the general public, volunteers, donors, corporations and the scientific and medical communities to rally around our cause and ADA’s call to “share, act, learn, and give.” Through these actions, millions will have the chance to get involved and help raise awareness, promote healthy living, and raise money to fund educational outreach, advocacy efforts, and critical research that will ultimately stop diabetes once and for all.
