Reflections From the 2017 MDI Group Philanthropic Award WinnerFor those of you who know me or who have stumbled upon my blogs before, you know that I work as a Client Manager for MDI Group, an IT staffing firm headquartered in the Atlanta area.  MDI Group has offices nationwide and has specialized in IT staffing for over 25 years.  Yes, we are awesome, but that’s not what I want to talk about on this post. Last week, MDI Group won Inavero’s 2017 Best of Staffing Client and Talent Awards for the 3rd year in a row!

That is THREE years of our clients AND consultants saying they are happy to do business with MDI Group!  And our satisfaction ratings are three times higher than the industry average for talent, and 19 times higher on the client side!  That means a LOT to us, since, as Client Managers, we put so much of our heart and soul into what we do.

MDI Group has led in the IT staffing industry for over 25 years and you’ve probably heard about us or worked with us before (if not, we can change that), but what you probably don’t know is that we have a set of corporate values that we strive to work by which include integrity, philanthropy, passion, entrepreneurship and accountability.  These values encourage us to achieve great things, not only in the workplace, but also in the communities in which we live.  Speaking of values – each year, people are selected to receive awards based on those values, and I’m proud to say… (Drum roll, please!) Yours truly has won the 2017 Philanthropic Award! In all seriousness, I’m truly honored to be this year’s recipient.

So, what does the Philanthropic Award mean? Well, to summarize, through this value, MDI Group motivates its employees to “positively impact lives each day.” This goes along so well with who I am as a person because I think positively impacting lives around us and giving back is so very, very important.

For example, I work with a local Women’s Prison Ministry where I encourage and mentor women who are in a transition phase of their lives. I assist them in setting high expectations for themselves by letting go of the past and to use their experiences to teach and motivate others.  Along those same lines, I lead Bible Studies for women and young girls at my local church, hoping to serve as a role model and mentor in the context of my Christian-based organization.  I’m also very passionate about women’s health and well-being.  I strive to deliver this passion as a fitness instructor, specifically focusing on relieving Diabetic and Hypertension symptoms in women.

Even more than winning any award, it thrills me when I am able to help the people that I work with and make their lives easier in any way that I can.  Because of this, I was flattered to read the following quote from one of my current clients that I am working with:  “Charmain Davis is an awesome account manager. She’s personable and able to get the information she needs for her people do to their work in a way that doesn’t annoy or inconvenience me. Her attention to our account lets me know that [our] business is important to MDI.”

If someone asked me why I enjoy working at MDI Group, I would respond by saying how I’m encouraged each and every day to bring my creativity and passion into my role as a Client Manager.  MDI Group allows me to be me! It offers a wide array of opportunities for personal and professional growth.  For that I’m very thankful.
